Shawna Gall // Director
Shawna Gall has been at DLC since 2014. She earned her BS in Education in 1991 from Northeastern State University. She has taught for more than 20 years in early childhood before joining the DLC team. She is a firm believer that being an early childhood educator
is a unique profession that is a life calling for her and her staff. Shawna and her husband Keith have three sons now adding to their title, very proud “Grandparents.” When she is not spending time with her grandson and grand-daughter you can find her camping at the lake with her family, fishing with Keith or shopping with friends.
Ashley Newman // Assistant
Ashley has been at Discovery Learning Center since 2014. Prior to working at DLC, she worked in childcare and volunteered with Shawna's class as a kindergarten aide her last two years of teaching. Ashley has always enjoyed working with kids because they're always doing something to put a smile on her face. She has a sweet little girl who always keeps mommy and daddy on their toes. Being a mom is her absolute, most favorite thing. She loves spending time with her hubby, baking, and going on adventures with her daughter.
Caney Long // Transitional Five Class (Flamingos)
Before staring at DLC in 2019, Caney worked in the corporate world for 24 years. She loves all the exploring, learning and fun we get to have. Each year will be filled with educational opportunities that will guide the children's growth. Caney has lived in Coweta all of her life. When she's not teaching, she loves shopping, camping, spending time with family and attending Oklahoma State football games and volunteering to give back to the community. She is involved in several organizations that give back to our community.
Peggy Chaplin // Pre-K Class (Elephants)
Peggy has been with DLC since 2016. Peggy and her husband Jeff have four children. She worked in the medical field for 24 years, then as a nanny for 10 years before joining the DLC family. She enjoys sewing, crafts, reading and spending time with her fur babies, Ella and Marilynn.
Stephanie Chaplin // Pre-K (Elephants)
Stephanie began with DLC in 2012 and has loved every minute of it! She has worked for First United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow since 2005 as a Sunday School Teacher and Childcare Supervisor. She attended Northeastern State University earning a degree in biology and furthering her love of animals. When she is not at DLC, you can find her reading, crafting, camping and hiking. Stephanie enjoys spending time at home with her fiancé, Ross, and their dog Jennings.

This is my first year at DLC, I have worked for the Bixby FUMC's preschool for 2 years before joining this team of teachers. I'm engaged to an amazing man and we have 3 beautiful kids. When I'm not working I'm at home enjoying the time with my children and doing crafts.

Jennifer is a certified child yoga instructor and personal trainer who has spent a lot of time working with special needs children and adults with biking, adaptive rowing, and started movement class at DLC last year. She loves bringing exploration and creativity to growing curious minds! Her goal is to help kiddos become independent thinkers and help them find passions and interest to stimulate their mind and personal growth! She has three children two of which have grown up at DLC.
Lori Speaks // Two-Year-Old Class (Butterflies)
Lori has been at DLC since 2014. She taught preschool & elementary for 18 years & was a private nanny for the past six years. Lori loves working with children because they are always so eager to learn new things & explore the creativity of their little minds. She has been married for more than 20 years to her husband Chad and together they have raised 2 boys who are now attending college. She is a member of the First united Methodist church. In her spare time she enjoys going to the lake, fishing, camping, cooking, riding their Harley & spending time with her family.

Jenna Dye // Toddler Class (Bees)
This is Jenna's first year at DLC. Before taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom with her two sons, she taught Fifth Grade at Broken Arrow for seven years. She went to the University of Central Oklahoma, majoring in Elementary Education. Whenever she isn't with her class at DLC, Jenna is hanging out with her husband Aaron and her two sons. She loves football season and cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys!
Kristin Struck // Toddler Class (Bees)
This is Kristin’s first year at DLC. Her family moved up to Tulsa last August for her husband’s job and she stayed at home this past year. Before that, she lived in OKC and was an elementary PE teacher for 12 years in Mustang, OK. She loves teaching and being around kids so much that she decided to go back to go work part time year and she is so excited to be a part of the DLC family. Her and her husband, Andy, will be celebrating 10 years of marriage this November. They have one son who is in kindergarten in Broken Arrow and they have one three year old girl and a new baby girl due in September who will both attend DLC! In their spare time, Kristin and her family love to travel, attend sporting events, exercise, and spend time with their families and friends!
Ann Heimback // Baby Class (Caterpillars)
Ann has been in and around DLC since 2018. Her daughter Marley attended DLC for 3 years before starting Kindergarten. Ann was a stay at home mom for the past 15 years before starting at DLC fall of 2019. She has been happily married to her husband for 20 years. They together are raising 3 beautiful children. Lainee who is 18 and just graduated Broken Arrow High School. Tristan who is 13 and in the 7th grade, and Marley who is 6 and just started Kindergarten. When she isn’t at school she can be found camping, fishing, traveling, gardening and spending time with her beloved family.
Theresa Knight // Baby Class (Caterpillars)
This Theresa’s first year at DLC. She is married to her husband Brian and they have 4 amazing children and 1 perfect granddaughter. Before joining DLC, Theresa worked in the corporate world for over 30 years. Theresa is excited to join DLC.
Darlene Raglin // Baby Class (Caterpillars)
I am a mother of 5 children, 3-boys and 2-girls, a grandparent to 15 grandchildren., We are raising a 9 year old, and we have 1 great grandchild. My Husband Roger has a TV show called Roger Raglin outdoors! It is a hunting show! I had a hair salon at 21st and Garnett for years and I now do hair at my home and my mom and youngest daughter still work there. We have goats and chickens in Coweta on 20 acres! We have a large in ground pool and tree house that my grandchildren love!! I love getting to work with babies and can't wait for a great school year.

Debbie Tennison // Substitute Teacher
Debbie have been a substitute for DLC since since 2018. She has been married to her husband Norman for 50 years, and they have three daughters ,Lori, Tammy and Caney, and 5 grandsons. She enjoys spending time with my family, camping and road tripping, and she is involved with the Broken Arrow Elks Veterans Group and the Roaming Elks Camping Club.
Sherry Bailey // Substitute Teacher
Sherry Bailey taught in public schools for 36 years. She realized in 2011 that retirement was not for her so she started substituting for DLC. Working with little ones is so exciting and every day is different. The staff is so helpful when she goes into a new classroom. She and her husband, John, have been married for 54 years. They have 2 children who are teachers, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. In her spare time Sherry likes to read, plant flowers, and quilting.
